With the help of orbital technology oft he optical beam path it is possible to show surface imperfections on the analyzed specimen. The different incidence angles of light, that the viewer uses, help to reveal these imperfections.

Resulting from resolution of reflected light of a microgrinding in digits and with the help of computer processed programs we can depict three dimensional surfaces of objects. Surface discontinuities for example on screw threads can be made visible with this technique.
