Tensile test

Tensile strength, yield strength, elongation at break

The tensile test is an important test process in materials testing.

This is a destructive, quasi-static test method that makes it possible to determine important material properties such as tensile strength, elongation limit and elongation at break.

We have a total of nine tensile testing machines with power ranges from 25 kN to 2000 kN to fulfil your testing requirements.

Tensile test at room temperature

  • Elaborate & check
  • Initial diameter ≥ 7 mm & length ≥ 25 mm – 55 mm → Smallest samples
  • Initial diameter ≥ 9 mm & length > 50 mm → Standard samples
  • Bar / wire sections in the tensile test from a length of 230 mm

Tensile test at elevated temperatures

  • Elaborate test
  • Initial diameter ≥ 7 mm & length ≥ 25 mm – 55 mm → Smallest samples
  • Initial diameter ≥ 9 mm & length > 50 mm → Standard samples
  • Up to a maximum of 150 kN
  • Temperatures > RT to 700ºC

Further tensile tests

  • Tensile tests only work out or only test: Every project has its own requirements. We are flexible. We will be happy to test your already completed tensile samples or produce tensile samples for further testing on your premises.
  • Tensile tests at elevated temperatures: For materials in special environmental conditions, we offer tensile tests at elevated temperatures of up to 700°C. This enables the material properties to be tested under realistic operating conditions.
  • Tensile test on pipe tensile specimens: We specialise in the testing of pipes and offer tensile tests on pipe tensile specimens. This is crucial for sectors such as pipeline construction and the oil and gas industry.
  • Special tensile tests (titanium tensile test, blind hardening preparation including heat treatment, preparing and testing blind hardening tensile specimens): Our range of services also includes special tensile tests such as the titanium tensile test and the preparation of blind hardening samples, including heat treatment. These tests are of great importance for high-performance materials and critical applications.

Our wide range of tensile testing services are designed to fulfil your individual requirements and ensure you get the specific material properties and data you need.
